Emotion Pictures Festival

 

In Lefkada!

 

On the occasion of the International Day of People with Disability, the non-profit organization "ARTiria" in Lefkada, with the support of the International Festival Emotion Pictures - Documentary & Disability, organized a series of events between December 1st-4th, entitled "We do not live separately”.  

 


The event included screenings of films by the educational package of Emotion Pictures, which took place in the presence of almost 400 students, and on Saturday and Sunday evening screenings of awarded films of the Festival for the general public. Dancers Irene Kourouvani and Markella Manoliadi performed "Touching the limits", while on Sunday they held a creative dance workshop for people with physical disabilities.

On the occasion of the International Day of People with Disability on December 3rd, 2010, screenings of films of the educational package of Emotion Pictures were organized in schools in Nafpaktos, Florina, Limnos, Zakynthos, Halkida, Volos, and several schools in Athens

  


Emotion Pictures in Crete!

 

The University of Crete and specifically the Department of Primary Education organized an animation workshop for children with disabilities under the guidance of the award-winning directorial duo Vinay and Minaksi Rai while an international symposium took place on December 3rd, 2010, with the participation of 200 scientists and teachers. The initiative of the University will continue with screenings and discussions at schools in four prefectures of Crete.


 

Emotion Pictures & Psaroloco

in the SOS Children Villages!

 

The International Film Festival Emotion Pictures - Documentary and Disability colalborated with the International Short Film Festival for children Psarokokalo, for a special screening program entitled «Psaroloco».

 

The program aims to transfer the film experience - education in orphanages and institutions for children and adolescents, including award-winning short films.

 Emotion pictures in Brussels

 

A series of awarded films of the Emotion Pictures Festival were successfully screened in Brussels on May 27-29 2010, in an event co-organized by the "Extra & Ordinary People! - EOP!" Festival and the European Academy of Childhood Disability (EACD), held under the auspices of the European Parliament, the City of Brussels and Her Royal Highness Princess Astrid of Belgium.

 

The projection took place in a crowded auditorium and the films won the applause of the audience, in the presence of 500 scientists from all over the world, representatives of the European parliament, the Belgian Minister of Health Evelyne Huytebrorck, the professor Bernard Dan, Chairman of EACD 2010 and Ms. Jacqueline Rousseau Head of the Centre Culturel D'Uccle.

The Artistic Director of Emotion Pictures Ms. Maria Hatzimichali-Papaliou was present in the event, presenting the activities of the Festival organized both in Greece and abroad.

The event in Brussels was greeted by Mr. Vassilios Koulaidis (pdf, 34,7 KB), Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, under the auspices of whom the Emotion Pictures Festival has been  placed, while a recorded message was sent by the euro deputy Ms. Maria Damanaki (QuickTime video, 2.25 MB).

The festival, which has not stopped to extend its activities since it first began in 2007, sets off today on new collaborations in a European level. In the next organisation of 2011, Emotion Pictures will collaborate with the Festival International du Film Francophone de Namur, the Festival "Extra & Ordinary People! - EOP!", CAP48 and Belgian broadcasting organization RTBF.

Meanwhile, in December 2010, Emotion Pictures, in collaboration with the University Aix en Provence - City of Marseille, the Library of Alcazar and the General Consulate of Greece in Marseille, will organise a tribute to films of the Festival.
