Jean-Marie Drot

Jean-Marie Drot was born at Nancy in Lorainne. Author (novels and essays on art) and poet, he has been a screenplay-writer and director for French television since 1950. He has over 200 documentary films to his credit (series: "L'Art et les Hommes", "Les Heures Chaudes de Montparnasse", "Journaux de voyages", "Le musée imaginaire d'André Malraux") and has been awarded many and important prizes for his creations (GRAND PRIX at the Bergamo Festival, GRAND PRIX for directing at the Films d'Art Festival of the Centre G. Pompidou ,GRAND PRIX of SCAM).

He served as Cultural Attaché of the French Embassy in Greece and Director of the French Institute at Athens (1982-1984), Director of the French Academy in Rome - Villa Medici (1985-1994) and President of SCAM (Société Civile des Auteurs Multimédia, 1995-1999). He speaks six languages: French, Greek, English, German, Spanish and Polish. 


 

Pierre Blondeau

Born in 1926, Honorary Professor of Classics (French, Latin, Greek), founder and acting president of the International Film Meetings of Pontarlier (Franche-Comté, France).  This festival has hosted retrospectives of world-famous filmmakers including Joseph Losey, Luigi Commencini, Carlos Saura, Elia Kazan, Paolo Taviani, John Boorman, Dino Risi, Samuel Fuller, Giuseppe De Santis, Volker Schlöndorff, Ettore Scola, Bertrand Tavernier, Alain Tanner, Paul Grimault, Claude Sautet, Jacques Perrin, Souleymane Cissé, Francesco Rosi and Robert Guédiguian.  Theo Angelopoulos was the latest distinguished guest to present his entire work. 

As a result of the excellent relations between Freddy Buache of the Swiss Cinemathèque and the producer Anatole Dauman (Argos Films), president of the French Cinemathèque, the International Film Meetings of Pontarlier have accomplished the tremendous task of acquainting mainstream audiences with quality films.  Although deprived of his vision several years ago, Pierre Blondeau possesses the same energy, which he has placed entirely at the disposal of the defense and promotion of the 7th art.


 

Aimee Mullins

Actress, athlete and fashion model, Aimee Mullins has received the honorary title of one of the "Greatest American Women of the 20th Century" for her contribution to sport by the Women's Museum. Aimee constantly attracts media attention. She played in Oliver Stone's film World Trade Center and appeared as cheetah-woman in Matthew Barney's avant-garde  film Cremaster 3, which according to the Guardian is "the first true masterpiece [...] ever since Dali and Bunuel filmed the Andalusian Dog (1929)". At university she competed against able-bodied athletes and in 1996 she participated in the Paralympics of Atlanta, where she set World Records in the 100 metres and the long jump.

Aimee was declared the "Hottest Muse" in Rolling Stone magazine's annual Hot List, People magazine included her among the "50 Most Beautiful People in the World", and one of the world's most celebrated fashion designers, Alexander McQueen, invited her to walk alongside the world's supermodels. At such a young age, Aimee has been the source of inspiration for many exhibits, that can be found at such famous institutions as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Tate Modern and the Women's Museum. She spends much of her free time assisting various non-profit organizations, most notably Just One Break and the Women's Sports Foundation. 


 

Dimitris Koliodimos

Dimitris Koliodimos has been working in film since 1975, initially directing short films (2) and then as a columnist and film critic in magazines and newspapers, writing and editing radio and television shows as well as books.  He was the mastermind (and lead writer during its first seven years) of the annual publication Cinema, is a member of the Greek Film Critics Union (since 1978) and has served as a member of its board of directors and secretary general. 

He has also served as a member of the National Cinema Awards committee, the Film Advisory Council and the Greek Film Centre's board of directors.  He has taught Film history at the Athanasios Panayotopoulos Film School (1985-1989) and today occupies the post of Television Manager of the SKAI TV station.

 


 

Alexandros Mordoundak

Born in Athens in 1980, he is a graduate of the Department of Communication, Media and Culture of Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences, where he also completed postgraduate studies in Media Psychology. He is presently working on is doctoral thesis in the field of Communication and Culture at the same university while at the same time taking acting lessons at the Athens Conservatory Drama School.

He has worked as communication advisor for companies and artistic groups, as a copywriter in advertising and as a script advisor in films.  He has also worked as an actor and journalist in cultural magazines and on television.
