3 December 2007 - Festival Spot on TV
EMOTION PICTURES participated in the celebration of the International Day of People with Disabilities with a television spot on all the major Greek networks that broadcast nationally.

3 December 2007: Discussion at the Greek office of the EU Parliament
The message that the EMOTION PICTURES festival is not solely a three-day event, but in contrary takes part regularly in initiatives, in Greece and abroad, that aim at getting across that disability is a part of everybody's reality, was one of the main points the festival's Artistic Director tried to communicate in the speeches she gave on the occasion of the International Day of People with Disabilities. On 3 December Maria Hatzimichali-Papaliou presented the festival's activities at the Greek office of the EU Parliament during a discussion on "Disability and Culture: the European strategy for People with Disabilities".
14-15 June 2007: International conference “Cultural Heritage for All: removing barriers, creating experiences”
The Byzantine & Christian Museum organizes the international conference “Cultural Heritage for All: removing barriers, creating experiences” on June 14th – 15th, 2007, in Athens. The conference is being organized within the framework of the CULTURE 2000 Project “ACCU: Access to Cultural Heritage. Policies of Presentation and Use”.
The conference, by bringing together people working in the cultural heritage sector with the end users, wishes to discuss the various types of access barriers –physical, sensory, intellectual, social and cultural– as well as current international trends and perspectives on how to improve access. In the same spirit, the products of the ACCU project will be presented, as concrete results of a fruitful cooperation in a European level. A panel discussion with culture experts and representatives of people with disabilities will conclude the conference, having as main goal to discuss about museums and the issues of equality.
The conference will take place in the Byzantine & Christian Museum in Athens. The participation is free of charge. The official languages of the conference will be Greek and English.

April 2007: 1st Panhellenic Conference on Special Education organized by the Pedagogic Society Special Education of Greece
The 1st Panhellenic Conference organized by the Pedagogic Society of Special Education of Greece on "Special Education in the Society of Knowledge" will take place at the Athens University School of Philosophy on 26-29 April, 2007.
The conference is organized by the Pedagogic Society of Special Education of Greece in collaboration with the Special Pedagogic and Psychology section of the Pedagogic Department of the University of Athens and aspires to become a pioneering scientific conference in the field of Special Education.

July 2006: Greek Cinema and people who are deaf or hard of hearing
The first ten greek movies in DVD with subtitles for people who are deaf or hard of hearing were presented by the Greek Film Centre’s President George Papalios to the Minister of Culture George Voulgarakis and the President of the Hellenic Federation of the Deaf Constantinos Gargalis in July 2006 at the Hellenic Ministry of Culture.
The movies that were presented are the following: The Little Dolphins by Dinos Demopoulos, Edge of Night by Nikos Panayotopoulos, From the Snow by Sotiris Goritsas, End of an era by Antonis Kokkinos, Take care by George Tsemperopoulos, The only journey of his life by Lakis Papastathis, Stone Years by Pantelis Voulgaris, Loafing and Camouflage by Nicos Perakis, Hard Goodbyes: My Father by Penny Panayotopoulou and Peppermint by Costas Kapakas.
The number of greek movies with subtitles and description of sounds and music will steadily rise as a relevant obligation has been included in the new contracts of the Greek Film Centre for the movies to be released in DVD.
